RIP CURRENTS KEEP RESCUERS BUSY

Rip currents and high winds were prevalent at the beach, a n d rescuers used the opportunity to practice how to reach stranded swimmers caught in the ocean. The Ocean Rescue Swimmers are experienced competition swimmers or have worked as lifeguards. Firefighters responded to calls on Monday near the Commercial Blvd. Anglin’s Pier for swimmers in distress, but they were not in any danger.
